Mandarin House Chinese Buffet

Good food. Some things are better than others. Early lunch can be very fresh sushi. Delightful boiled shrimp. Pretty good crawfish. Roast can be a challenge to cut. Better on Sundays. Plenty of good seafood dishes, good egg rolls. Shrimp dumplings nice. Good assortment of soups. Duck ribs a few items average. Never really went to one of these for mashed potatoes much. Sweet potatoes a plus. Fairly full crabs if you're eating dinner. I go there often. Sunday can be like family night and it's amazing to see how many different ethnic groups you can put into a restaurant. Dinner pricing all day on Sundays but dinner choices at lunch. Ample Big Lot free parking in front.

Food was ok nothing to brag about. Didn't like the fact that at 7:30p.m. no crab legs

Seafood was good, they had fried oysters that tasted like it was fried with Chinese food, but the boiled seafood was very good. They had fresh oysters on the half shell that were very tasty. Overall the food is always good, not the same as going to a seafood restaurant but not as pricey either. Good for the amount paid for dinner.

Some food were great others were not. The salmon looked like it was out too long, the only thing I could bear was the shrimp and fruit . I was very disappointed I think they can do way better. Seems like people are just cramped in here. Some of the food was not replenished on time

They have a good selection on their buffet. As well as a fresh sushi bar. Prices are reasonable and service is always good.

Love this place but only go during busy times. Food is being flipped and new batches made so the food is fresh

Great buffet with so many foid to choose.

Came for lunch and I gotta say it was good, every thing i tried tasted good, for $9.99 it's not a bad deal at all! Huge selection of food, sushi, desserts, etc.. will come back again if in town.

Great variety and very fresh!For lighter fare, stick with the salad and sushi bar, boiled and steamed seafood, and fresh fruit for dessert. I made a really good Spinach and Seafood Salad with sashimi, crab, artichokes, cucumbers, carrots, celery and what looked like Italian or Greek dressing. For cheat day you'll find familiar favorites like General Tso's Chicken, Sesame Chicken, and Jalepeno Chicken, as well as all kinds of seafood - fried oysters, baked salmon, boiled crawfish, shrimp, squid, octopus, crab - you name it!There's plenty of choices for picky eaters, too. From pizza and french fries to chicken wings and fried plantains - you don't even have to like Chinese food to eat there!In fact, I'd say there's a good mix of pan-Asian and American - something for everyone, which is just perfect for a Lousiana buffet!

Convenient location open for Mardi Gras, we joined together for a memorial late lunch there.

Good food good service getting a little pricey

Our favorite buffet when we visit the area. The selection is Huge and delicious all with a friendly staff. Clean and well presented foods for every appetite!

The most rude and miserable employees ever! The food was good with a nice selection. However, I will think twice about dining there again because of the oh so ride employees..

This is the best place to get really good boiled seafood. The shrimp are so huge and always well seasoned. I have been going to this place cod shrimp and crawfish since 2000! My kids always loved to go out to Metairie for this! I still do. It’s the only buffet I recommend. It’s always consistent, the family that owns it is super kind and I love this place.

The food is Amazing and i like the the fish there .

One of the best buffets we have been to. We tried this buffet two years ago on a visit to the area, and made it a point to visit again; the food is fresh, the restaraunt is clean, and the table service is very good. We now live on the Gulf Coast and will visit Mandarin House again.

The food was great just don't go too late or you end up heating cold or reheated food

Got here at 7:30 and they close at 10pm. Out of crab legs, out of ribs, pretenting to not understand english(I heard them speak fluently when not asked a question, like they don't know the words "crab" and "ribs"). Toughest cut of beef for thier "roasted beef". Toughest chicken wings I have ever tried with that standard yellow oil look inside. Fried rice is also the same old oil yellow. The sushi cuts of salmon and tuna have obviously sat out all day, and are very thin and tough as if they've been frozen for 6 months. Fried squid is like chewing rubber. Sweet and sour chicken is the hardest breading and the dryest white chicken inside. What was good: the shrimp was plentiful and large, yet bland because I'm sure it's bulk farmed shrimp. The crawfish were tasty and large. I'm full, but mostly of farmed shrimp dipped in wonton soup to flavor them. Spend $6 more dollars and go to Harrah's buffet.
